Baxter Warrior Crew Connection

Mrs. Demuth's Monthly Newsletter

November 26, 2025
Dear Baxter Families,
It is hard to believe that we have already reached the end of November. With almost three months of the school year behind us, it has been wonderful to see our students settled into their routines and fully engaged in meaningful learning each day.

As the weather continues to cool, please ensure that your child comes to school dressed appropriately for outdoor activities. Our Lost and Found collection is growing, so if your child is missing any items, we encourage you to check there.

I hope this letter finds you and your family well. Thank you for attending our fall conferences. The conferences were a great opportunity for us to connect and discuss your child’s progress and accomplishments. Please take a few moments to review the remainder of this letter for important updates and details about events taking place within our school community.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Demuth

Veterans Day Program

Mrs. Lee and our third-grade students did an outstanding job with our Veterans Day program earlier this month. It was a truly special event that honored the many brave and courageous veterans, as well as those currently serving, to whom we are deeply grateful.

We were equally moved by the incredible turnout from our families and the broader community. Your presence and support made the concert even more meaningful and served as a powerful reminder of the amazing community we are so fortunate to be a part of. Thank you for helping make the event such a heartfelt celebration.

Character Trait Focus

At Baxter Elementary, we are committed to fostering strong character in our students by highlighting a positive character trait each month. In October, we recognized students who exemplified what it means to be an upstander. These are the students who help others by standing up for them and doing what is right. Congratulations to all of our outstanding Students of the Month for demonstrating this important trait!

For the month of November, our focus is on the character trait of having a compassionate heart. Students with compassionate hearts demonstrate kindness, empathy, and respect for others in all that they do. They notice when someone is struggling and offer support without being asked. These students listen with understanding, include others in activities, and treat everyone with dignity and care. They celebrate their classmates’ successes and show patience when others make mistakes. By choosing kindness and understanding, students with compassionate hearts help create a positive and welcoming school community where everyone feels valued and supported.

Student Council Update

Our student council members have been actively engaged in supporting our school community. They volunteered at our Halloween Bingo event, assisted in creating Veterans Day artwork for the third-grade program, and continue to lead our Monday morning announcements. Their next initiative will involve adding positive, uplifting posters throughout the hallways—an improvement identified by the student council members themselves. It is inspiring to see these students embrace their leadership roles and contribute such meaningful, positive guidance to the Baxter Elementary community.

Visitors & Volunteering

With several upcoming events for our students, I would like to share a reminder about our volunteer policies and procedures. This will help ensure that anyone interested in volunteering completes the required paperwork in advance. All visitors to Baxter Elementary will be asked to present a government-issued ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport card) upon entering the building. This is part of our Raptor security system, which quickly scans IDs and checks them against a national database to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
The term “visitor” includes parents/guardians and community members who come for school events, classroom parties, dropping off materials, or other large-group activities. Classroom visits and field trip support will always be coordinated directly through your student’s classroom teacher.

Volunteers
We love our volunteers! To participate as a classroom volunteer, working in the classroom, field trip chaperone, book fair helper, or in any other volunteer role, the district requires two important steps each year.
Step 1: Complete the Volunteer Application
Step 2: Read the Volunteer Guidelines and complete the Verification Form.

Please note: Applications take 5–7 business days to process. Be sure to plan ahead if you’d like to help with an upcoming event or field trip.
Thank you for supporting our students at Baxter!

Baxter Warrior Crew T-Shirts

All staff and students are invited to wear their Baxter Warrior Crew t-shirts on Friday, December 5th. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to demonstrate our school spirit and come together as a united school community. Thanks again to our generous PTO for providing these t-shirts for our students and staff.

Thank you!

A Heartfelt Thank You

Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support throughout this school year. It is a true privilege to work alongside you in nurturing, supporting, and celebrating our students each day. Your involvement—whether through encouraging your child at home, volunteering or attending events—makes our school community stronger and more connected.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s life and for walking with us in this important work. It is truly an honor to be part of your child’s educational journey. Thank you for being a valued member of our Baxter Elementary family.
