Hello Baxter Elementary Families,
I hope that you are enjoying a memorable summer with family and friends! I wanted to take a moment to reach out and introduce myself. My name is Taylor Demuth and I’m incredibly excited to be joining Baxter Elementary School as your new principal! I have observed on countless occasions what a special place Baxter Elementary truly is because of the students, staff and families. I consider myself very lucky to be coming home to Baxter Elementary. My hope is that this letter gives you a sense of who I am—both professionally and personally—as we begin our journey working together.
I have been fortunate to serve in various leadership capacities within the field of elementary education throughout my career. Most recently, I served as the Cuyuna Range Elementary School Principal. Prior to that, I had the opportunity to spend the majority of my professional career, working within the Brainerd Public Schools as an elementary teacher, literacy coach, literacy and social studies coordinator and elementary district trainer. These valuable experiences have shaped me into the educational leader I am today, grounding my work in collaboration and an unwavering commitment to student success.
I believe education is the most important gift that we can give our students. My goal is to ensure that Baxter Elementary School is a safe and welcoming place with high expectations for everyone. Each and every student deserves to feel safe, loved and valued and that is one of my main priorities as a principal. I view educational leadership as an opportunity to serve others and make a meaningful, positive impact on their lives—a commitment I strive to uphold every day.
Personally, my husband Mike and I have two little boys named Leo and Brooks. We love spending our evenings and weekends together outdoors (golfing, biking, visiting parks, etc.) and enjoying this beautiful place we call home. As a parent and an educator I recognize the invaluable role that parents and guardians play in the educational journey of our students. I view you as a partner in creating the best educational experience we possibly can for your child. You are a valued member of our school community. Together, we can do amazing things to provide our students with the best possible opportunities for learning and growing.
We want to invite all of you to attend our Baxter Elementary Open House on August 27, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM.
To help manage attendance, we’ve divided the event into two sessions:
If you are unable to attend during your assigned session, please feel free to stop by during the other time slot. We look forward to welcoming you back to school soon!
Sincerely,
Taylor Demuth
